Sweet Summer – Tacoma Family Photojournalism

August 18, 2014

Last time I photographed this family, Tacoma had a few inches of fresh snow on the ground and baby Georgia May was a week and a half old. This session, six months later, was the perfect follow up to that one. Like the last time I saw them, big sister Vivienne was focused on helping out and obsessed with changing diapers, both on her baby dolls and on her baby sister. A warm August afternoon was spent picking fruit and vegetables from the impressive garden out front. I had some of the best cherry tomatoes of my life that day. As we had to stay in for most of the last session, I was excited to be able to spend most of this session outside. Vivienne helped feed the chickens and pick out and wash the single egg that had been laid while Georgia May concentrated on sitting up, a skill that is just within her reach. I couldn’t believe how much had changed in six months, especially when it came to Georgia May, but it was a happy relief to be able to pick up where we left off last time.
