Searching for the Loch Ness Monster – Family Photography Online Mentoring

January 16, 2018

Back in August, we crossed another country off of our list as we made our way to Edinburgh, Scotland. What a gorgeous country! Despite going at the end of the summer, the weather felt more like early spring. There was almost a constant drizzle the whole time, but just look at what that does to the landscape. So green and lush!

Like always, we didn’t have a lot of set plans for our trip because kids, but we did make visiting Loch Ness a priority. We spent a full day in a tour bus and I was car sick for most of that time, but it was 100% worth it. We visited the Edinburgh Castle because Silas is obsessed, but left early because we had some seriously grumpy kids. Can you see Silas pouting? I think that was when we wouldn’t buy him his hundredth sword. The rest of the time we spent walking around and soaking up the views around the city. Also, just soaking in the rain.

Before we went on this trip, I decided I wanted to attempt to make a video of our trip in addition to the pictures I normally get. Instead of just shooting as we went, I had to think about the end product I was hoping to create. It was rough and I’m pretty sure I cried out of frustration at least once, but boy was it worth it! While I do wish I actually got in the video too, it was simply too much work to even think about at the time. Maybe I’ll try again when we go on our next adventure.
