Memories in Motion : A Day in the Life – January 2017

March 24, 2017

I have a hard enough time photographing A Day in the Life for my family with any regularity, so I’m really not sure what I was thinking when I set out to record a DITL with video. Do you know how hard it is to distill a whole day down to four minutes and twenty seconds? I’ll tell you. Even for a normal, boring day, it was hard!

But I love the finished product. Will I shoot another? Absolutely… after I’ve forgotten how much work it is.

January 8, 2017 was a normal Sunday. We all ‘slept in’ until 7:30am and Silas climbed into bed with us before we realized what was happening. We had coffee AND espresso because, yum. My kids ate their normal 25 meals per day because they’re basically hobbits. Silas looked kind of pathetic outside, scraping the ice off of the ground because we didn’t really get any snow this year. We cleaned and made messes and cleaned again. We got dressed after noon, or not at all. I worked out alone in the attic and despite what it looks like, my workout took more than 10 full seconds. Steve ran to the grocery store and Arlo woke up when he heard there was more food in the house. They ate pizza, had friends come over for dinner, and ate pizza again. Two dinners. I told you. Hobbits. A late bedtime meant a quick bedtime routine. No baths this night.

Just a normal Sunday for us. I didn’t even change out of my yoga pants.
