Happy Anniversary Sale

November 28, 2011, my first son was born and I bought an entry-level DSLR. I spent the next year and a half tearing through Google trying desperately to gain control over my camera. There was an urgency to document the rapidly changing stages of my son’s life in a way that I couldn’t have predicted. We lived 1200 miles away from family and if I wanted them to see him grow up, I had to provide the pictures for them.

In early 2013, with the first hints of my own style and voice emerging, I upgraded my camera to my beloved, Nikon D700, and began my first 365 project. In June, I received my business license.

And here I am four years later. Am I where I thought I would be? Heck no!

In the last four years, I…
Photographed babies, pregnant bellies and births.
Family holiday traditions, Sunday morning brunches and long walks on the beach.
Moved to another continent.
Taught some already pretty amazing photographers the ways of storytelling photography.
Helped countless others finally master their cameras.
Had a second baby.
Was published in Eltern (German Parent’s magazine) and Kekmama, a Dutch parenting magazine.
Was featured on Babycenter and Popsugar.
Met and worked with some incredible photographers from around the world.

I also felt like I was going nowhere at times. The growth was sometimes painfully slow and frustrating. I questioned everything I was doing. I still might do that actually…

Still, I’m incredibly proud of where I am with my photography today. And I’m celebrating 4 years of business with a mentoring sale so that I can help YOU on your journey.
